I am a writer and photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. With a mix of curiosity and imagination I seek out the essence of each new place and the interwoven stories of human spirit along the way.
In 2010 I graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BA in Media Studies and Politics. Stubborn for experience, I’ve lived in Barcelona, hiked the Himalayas mountains in Nepal and road tripped through Eastern Europe, laying down my sleeping bag in unwitting backyards. I've been lost among the ruins of Cappadocia, curated a research expedition across 3 continents, documented mural art from Atlanta to Rwanda and facilitated creative workshops in a Zambian School. I've been present at a ceremony given by the Dalai Lama in Northern India and swum with a whale shark off the coast of Madagascar. I have learnt that there is nothing more magnificent than the natural world and a kindness shared between people.
Writing and picture taking is just an extension of an ongoing journey that seeks understanding, and a necessity that allows me to pay tribute to the delights and despairs intrinsic to all of our lives. I am attuned to hearing the whispers gone unnoticed in busy streets and collect these passing moments in a way that hopes to give small credit to the varying experiences of life.
